As a key part of all Planning Applications in the UK a sustainability assessment has to be carried out by an approved Inspector, this assessment will enable the design to achieve an approved level of sustainability and energy efficiency. The level of required sustainability will increase over the next few years in line with Government requirements.

Achieving these targets will be difficult without new methods of construction being adapted.
